Electric cut out when trying to start
Hello: I have a 1988 aerostar V6. When I move the key to the start position every thing eletrical cuts out and it wont start. After I let go of the key and it returns I still cant get anything eletrical to work. The only way I can get any thing eletrical to work is disconnect the battery and reconnect it. Every thing works accept the drivers side power window. I switching the solenoid from my truck to the aerostar and it didnt help. Any ideas

Do you have one of those replacement battery clamps on the cable? I had a 71 ford van that would do the same thing.
I'd have to take the two bolts out & the little plate off where the cable went in.
Use a wire brush to clean the end of the cable & end of the clamp.
