4x4 low

my 1998 ford ranger 4x4 has electronic shift on the fly. but when i go to shift into 4low it takes for ever for it to engage. i gottin in trouble alot of times because of this. anything i can do to make it shift faster.

For mine to go into 4x4 low i have to be at a complete stop and in nuetral, keep in mind that i have a 5spd manual

You also have to have your foot on the brake.....Took me a while to figure that one out.

yep, this is the best way, because if u change when the gears are turning u can really mess the transfer case up something fierce

my 02 ranger takes a while to shift into 4x4 low. i think its normal.
