what I don't know is why it seems you guys in Texas have much less trouble getting them fixed then lets say trucks in TN.
I think generally speaking, TX trucks have less problems, especially in the DFW area. (No, I am not saying there are no problem trucks in TX). Our, reportedly, higher cetane levels may have something to do with that.
In addition, Texas is probably # 1 or 2 in diesel sales for all the domestics which likely lends itself to more & better educated techs as a whole. The dealerships of all brands here can get huge.
That is not to say that there are not good techs in TN or anywhere else. Just that a higher percentage may be attracted to this diesel friendly climate. Plus dealers here may be spending more $$$ on diesel education since a higher percentage of their income is dependent upon diesel truck sales.
And just to reiterate tn mac...I stand with you regrading your MPG issues. Hope you get a fix and will share it with us all. Secondly, I do have a high level of respect for you and hope that you have not seen my comments as a personal attack.
Just an FYI: You and others should know me well enough by now to understand that if I do launch a personal attack there is nothing to be lost or confused in interpretation as I am very clear with my intent.
Actually BigF350...I think this thread said a # of things that needed to be said on both sides of the fence.
No offense to you or any other mods or admins but, IMO, sometime the plug gets pulled a little to quick before we resolve our own discussions. But, it is your house to rule.
Heres the problem with this thread though, ya both sides said some things but no matter what each side says its not goin to change the other sides opinion. But i do think that maybe each side understands where the other is coming from, bc i to get a little tired of hearing bad news about the 6.0 all the time. I love it, to me its a great truck. But thats what this forum is about people can come here with questions and we have some awesome people here that will answer about anything. Thats why this site is the best. There was a thread started a while back saying, "this site hurts ford sales" i dunno if it does or not. But one of my buddies got on here and hes in the market for a new truck. He asked me how come there are so many problems with these 6.0, so i had to explain to him that its a minority. So the people that do post negative things on here, to the average person that glances at this site ya i would say they get the wrong impression.
I shall keep it open guys. Always willing to recieve feedback - good, bad or otherwise - and as long as stays within the guidelines, it is fine with me.
As long as everyone is happy, so am I.
Hello To Everyone. This is my first post on the forum. I have my first Power Stroke as of two weeks ago. It is a 06 F-350 CrewCab Lariat Dually 4X2 with 6.0 TorqShift 5 speed, 4.10 Ratio Limited Slip Axle and LT245/75R17E Tires.
So far I have added a Creative Coatings bed liner. (Local co. in Little Rock) mud flaps front and back. 20K Reese 5th Wheel Hitch. Bug Shield.
Still have a few more things that I want to add to make it MY TRUCK. So far I like the tow-haul and the Brake Controller just fine. Have only got to pull our 11,500 LB HitchHiker about 70 miles with it and it was showing 13.6 MPG on that little trip. My truck was born on 05-05-05 Look forward to getting to know some of you guys.

just wanted to know what happened to my signature, i changed it about two pages back and its not there. yes its a picture but it's a small one. the pictures load last after words, so why would that small picture be a problem when the few dial-uppers wouldnt even see it anyway?
It's nice to know that you can be out of the country for a couple of months, come back, and the same arguments are still being hashed-out. The 6.0 "is a good engine" vs. the "it's a bad engine" folks, "will void the warranty" vs. the "won't void the warranty" argument, etc. You'd be surprised at the things you start missing when your in a place that you can only get internet service one hour a month and nobody knows when that hours going to be. Other than at the least convienant time. No matter what the fights, FTE still feels like a community, and it's good to be back.

NO worries on your comments it is just a truck to me I am brand loyal as long as the brand meets my needs, that is my major lang up this truck is not. On a different note my egr plug fell off today and my stock muffler got replaced by a aero muffler hope it will the mpgs will let you know. wanted to stay stock but the mpgs are killing me still cant get 300 miles out of a tank, its just hard to believe when the ol 7.3 would get 485 pullingt same trailer same weight and same route and driver its a big hit with the price of fuel.
Good luck with picking up some MPGs...If I keep hearing good things about the new flash I will try to get in to get 'er done after opening weekend (Dove Season). I will let you know what happens if / when I do.
You know, there really haven't been any "make it better" flashes for the '04 engine builds like the '03...maybe this will be it.
I was looking through my subscriptions and found this thread I started almost 3 and a half years ago.
I still have the same truck, it has 105k on it and I love it.
FICM was replaced, headgaskets were done with studs, and turbo again.
I don't think anything was wrong with the turbo but maybe they had to blame something for the gaskets.
