i dnt have a problem avertising, theres only one person within a 100 miles of me that looks at general non auto, and i really dotn think theyd mess would my truck would ya...?
I have them in my 79 ford pu. From the looks of it, they are from the factory because it has the threaded stud inserts built in to the cab that had original factory paint and showed no signs of them being aftermarket inserts.
I agree with the others, they advertise a persons guns for the thieves in our society.
my gun rack holds my personal cue stick. people are always askin if its a gun. "nope, but i still shoot with it..." if i'm out on my cousins deer lease or ridin around in the back acreage of the house goin shootin with my gal i'll throw the little single shot .22 up there. pretty soon though i keep thinkin i wanna leave my 12 in my toolbox though....
hell, i almost always have a shotgun in my truck, but being an extended cab i dont have a rack... it sits next to me and if im on a trip, she wears a seatbelt....
My gun rack is my back seat and floot board. I've always got a shotgun and or rifle in the truck with me. I hope I would never need one of them, but I'm not going to be defenseless against someone. I shoot back.
I had a rifle rack in my 77 before it was smashed, I'd only have a gun in it when I was going to and from the range, camping, or transporting it. Im going to order a vertical gun rack for my highboy, where the buttstock sits on the tranny hump, and the barrel is up by the dash, like in a cop car.
I'm not in an area where a gun-rack would be okay... I'm going to a Jesuit university this fall, so heh... And mom whined about it when I mentioned getting one. Guess I'll have to wait till I get out on my own.
It has long been my intention to install gun racks - on my bed. The idea is to modify them to fit the side boards, and then hang matching shotguns on each side of the bed - his & her home protection. I finally got a pair of matching guns, (riot guns with 7 round tubes and short open barrels). Unfortunately, my son's birthday showed up while I was seriously between contracts, and severely under-funded, so I gave him one of the shotguns, and now the search is back on.
