Throttle body cleaning

Can someone give me the procedure for cleaning the throttle body on a 2001 4.0 Ranger? Carb cleaner and tooth brush? Never cleaned a plastic one before.

I haven't cleaned a plastic one either, but I can tell you it is alot easier to clean it off the truck. I had to clean my TB on my 2.3L since it was super filthy about a year ago. DO NOT JUST USE STANDARD CARB CLEANER. If you go to the parts store, there are cans that will say "Safe for TBs and fuel injection". I think regular carb cleaner is too harsh for TBs. I used an old soft toothbrush and TB cleaner on mine. You may want to call the dealer and ask a service advisor what they use, all they can say is no.
