Lightbulb Help, Lifting frontstrock end of 2005 F-150 to make it sit straight!

i went to Big Brand tire and they want to install a torsion key lift kit for $249.95, spacer lift for $200 and alighnment for $60. Are these items neeeded and if so correct. it will make the truck sit straight, opposed to how it is built facing down. Please let me know what you thibk.

Thanks Chad

The leveling kit will straighten it out and get the nose in the air. I personally wouldnt do anything to the torsion bars. theres some good picks of leveled trucks in the picture galeries, just narrow it down to 04/05 F-150 and 4x4, or search autospring or one of the other leveling kit manufacturers for pics._MAssdog

Ummm FYI There are no torsion bars on your truck, if your shop is telling you that you need torsion keys then i would recomend going somewhere that has a little more knowledge. The only thing you need to level these trucks is a daystar or similar front end spacer, and you will need to have an alignment done after the install.

I just bought a front end spacer off of E-bay for $100 shipping included and installed it, then had a local front end shop do an alignment, only the toe needed adjustment. Good Saturday morning project if you have basic hand tools and a floor jack.

Run while you still can.....the F-150 hasn't had a torsion bar front suspension since 2003...you have the newer coil-over suspension and only need the "leveling kit" which is basically alum/steel/or urathane spacers that sit on top of the coil to lift the truck. I have the EZ-lift and am having them installed soon.....I have seen comments on the boards about the 2.5" AutoSpring kit having the potential to cause suspension rubbing - so I'd personally stay away from that one....but they do make a 2", and a 1.5" leveling kit - IIRC. I got the EZ-lift because it's billet was priced right $120.00 and had read good results from others - good luck.

This is great! I was just looking to purchase the Tough Country 2" Front leveling system. It states in the instructions that I will need a strut compressor. Do you have one, did you rent one or did you not need one when installing?

It looks to be simple and straight forward, other than that. Thanks!

The kit they are talking about does not require a strut compressor.
And welcome to FTE.
