Keys programmed to truck??

You can program one yourself if you have an extra. Catch is you need two to program the third. So if you still have the original 2 it might be worth going ahead and programming a third and put it away in a safe place.

Ford is Confused
Recently bought a 05 King Ranch and the window sticker says "Advanced Security Group" and the owner's manual says the keys are coded. The dealer graciously offered to make extra keys for 60 bucks each. Bought the full set of shop manuals (2 shop, 1 Powerstroke, 1 electrical - $300) from Helm. The Diesel engine manual makes reference to the coded keys and refers you to a numbered section in the shop manual that doesn't even exist. The two buck key made at Home Depot works just fine. Apparently the people who write the owners manuals are not too bright and the dealer is either dumber or really smart - sixty bucks for a key you don't need. Wait till you tell your insurance company you have a factory installed passive anti-theft system, the truck gets stolen, and they find out you lied!
