how do you test module at home
i live in Canada Northern Ont.
the parts store said they don t have a tester for them just trial and error
was hoping someone knew of a test
i thought i saw a post a long time ago about testing module but can t find it.
cost of coil here is 70 and module is 85
so i want to make sure i got thre right part
You can test the coil and the ICM (Ignition Control Module), I'm looking at my Haynes service manual and it looks like there are different test for the module depending on if it is mounted on the fender or on the distributor. I picked up a ICM at Auto Zone for $40 and I think the coil is about the same price so you might want to try ordering online should you need one or both of those. Another place that has good prices online is rockauto.com, I have order through them a few times and have only good things to say about them.
