Ok how do I get it of of a 1989 bronco I got the puller took the clutch off pulled th pully and there is still the part with the electrical connection on it that is still on the shaft hoew do I get that off ??
If you still have the pulley remover, you need to pull of that entire magnetic ring or "clutch coil" that has the electrical connection on it. You would do this the same way you removed the clutch itself. If you got the new AC clutch from the Autoparts house it should have come with the new coil as well.
If you look in the center of the clutch coil, you should see a black snap ring at the back of the recess in the center. This secures the coil to the nose of the compressor. It may be disguised with crud - use some brake cleaner to blast the dirt and oil out of there. They are not always easy to remove - you need a strong pair of snap ring pliers that open as you squeeze. They must be thin enough to get into that recess. Alternately, I have used a selection of thin bladed screwdrivers to get the snap ring out. Be patient - it wants to resist leaving the groove in the compressor nose.
