Recently I've begun having trouble getting my 91 Bronco to start. I use this vehicle for work on a delivery route logging about 140 miles a night/5-days a week. Through the course of the night it seems to become more and more difficult getting it to turn over. I make approx. 12 stops on this route at which each I have to shut the truck off and abviously restart when finished. At the end of my route I make the 60-miles highway trip back to the warehouse to unload. At this point I shut down again..and by now when I go to restart it will barely do so. Note: If the vehicle has sat for awhile or even over night it starts with absolutly no problems. Checked the battery and it's fine. The alternator, pullies and belt are all brand new. It does'nt seem like it could be the starter as it starts great if its cold?
I`ve had trouble like this before and as the the starter heats up it turns slower to the point it drags. It does sound like your stater if you say your charging system is OK.
I've heard and read some threads stating that to be the problem..which does seem to make sense in this case. What did you do to fix this? Would a new starter help? It sounds like maybe this starter is getting burnt out. As I've had this route for about a year and had no problems the first 8-months or so. It's only been the past several months that it seems to have come on and getting worse.

Let's make sure we are all talking about the same thing. You mean it cranks very slowly correct? Or it cranks at a fairly high speed but won't fire and run?
The starter is a hard one to diagnose. That will probably be a replace and try it thing.
Have you taken any voltage readings at the battery? I would be curious to know what the voltage at the battery is with the truck off, with the truck running, and with the truck running and the lights and anything else powered when you make your deliveries.
Yeah I took it to a batteries plus the other day to test it..I don't remember the exact readings but they said with all three: the truck running, off and starting. I've got plenty of juice and it's holding its load well.
