Vin Decode for 79 F150
I am just curious if anyone can help me with that is in this truck. Its a 79 F150 super cab long box 4x4. I am pretty sure its the 351M and a C6, but what else can you folks tell me. Thanks, here is the Vin

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Oct-02 AT 08:24 PM (EST)]From the VIN# you can tell it's a 79 F150 4x4 Supercab with a 351 V-8, 2bbl., and built at the Kansas City Plant. Check with mediator Mil1ion, he has a link on his site you can go to and get lots of info.

Thanks for the help guys, funny there were no axle codes or anything like that. I have yet to climb under the truck and check it all out so I will have to get all the info off the tags then post. Does anyone no what transfer case would be in this truck?

Hey crfordman,
Get under the truck to the front end of the transfer case and look up, you will see atag which will give you transfer case number. Hey, can't be as bad as my 79 4x4 f150, spent a few minutes getting the muck off.

Hey all,
So you say you spent a few minutes getting "muck" off, it took me nearly 5 hours to clean just the transfer case "unattached from truck/trans" to get muck and shmuck off mine. course I have had for 12 years and not cleaned besides the carwash hose-down. lol
I have a 1979 ford f150, i have put new motor same kind 351m400 in and had trans rebuilt. Getting ready to do the paint job, but cant actually find anywhere that gives the specs of this exact ford colors. has a place on the dr.door panel to specify but ford did not specify the color.
do you know where i can get a color chart that actually shows the color and the number? or a website to find out for this truck
it is a gray/silverish and red. the interior is either a dark red or maroon/gray or silverish
Does anyone know. I will try and post a pic next post.
