whatever is there it most likely would have had to been flown there as it would take too long to sail a ship there, lets hope they are resued and not have another tradgety like the kursk!
There must be other subs nearby, but how to transfer crew is a good question.
Other thought is how close are they to rated crush depth.
Our space vehicles (russian and american) have similar airlocks for crew transfer, I wonder that something similar could be devised for subs. But at that depth, would they work?

Doesn't look good for him at all. Unfortunately the coal towns are all too used to this type of tragedy. I can only imagine what his family is going through.
