Internet Explorer?

Every once in a while I will be on the internet and I will get a message that will pop up sayiny, "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close". It closes on me. Sometimes it will give me an option of sending an error report but that never does anything. What could it be?

Take your computer outside and it.
Just kidding, I don't have a clue. About the computer either.
Something like that happened to me before but I can't quite remember why. You can try emptying your history, deleting all cookies, and clearing out all the temporary internet files that seem to attatch themselves to your computer everytime you look at something.

I used to have all kinds of similar problems with Internet Exploder. My solution was simple - I switched to Netscape and haven't had a problem since

When I had Windows98 that happened all the time. Since having a computer with XP it has never happened. 98, ME and other older systems were famed for getting that error message and/or locking up. I know there are some things you can do to help, but it's been so long since using 98 that I just can't remember.

XP will still give you that message. I have so many programs running at times that I get it. Usually the real problem is a poorly written application that interferes with another program. In this case it may not be IE, -it may be some helper application, another program, or some driver program. In my case I don't get any messages from IE because I don't use it but I do get the message from other programs.

Hey, shooting a computer is great, a buddy and i took 2 buckshots, 4 slugs, and umpteen million bullets from assorted rifles to a P.O.S. computer. Wow, what a relief from computer hardware class, we took pictures and showed the teacher what we really thought of what he was teaching, both of us have decided to change majors from computer engineering to mechanical engineering. wow, soooooo much more fun than computers, you just don't know how bored i get with em

depending which OS/ version you have, you need to make sure it is kept updated from Microsoft Update. Or like what was mentioned before, it is other software that messes with Windows/ IE. Could even be an out dated drivers for your computer, video card, etc.
When posting problems about computers/ software, please include type of equipment or software version.(Windows XP, 2000, 98, etc.)

IE is, plain and simple, a piece of garbage; like everything else M$ puts out. They release beta software for general use, then rely on users to debug it by submitting crash reports.

Browser crashes can happen when a webpage is coded wrong. That dumb monkey bopping flash banner used to crash me all the time.

You can prevent alot of web garbage by selecting a higher security in your options, or just disabling flash. Pop-Up stopper is a great little program for stopping alot of garbage. You can also stop animations (that could also cause crashes) by pressing your Escape key.

Get it and never look back! Well... you better keep IE around because there is maybe a 15% chance that you MIGHT need it for just one site. But I think I've found two so far. Much faster browsing, no pop-ups, and no crashing (yet).
