So here I am trying to get my rear dually wheels off and they won't budge. I try WD40, a long pry bay in between the wheels and nothing. I try the other side and the same….Rust welded. I loosen all the lugs on both sides and took the truck for a spin around the block. The outer wheel on the passenger side broke free from the inner wheel, but the driver’s side wheels are still together. How the heck do you guys get these wheels free? What can I do???
Thanks.
An oxy-acetelyne torch, set on medium, keep going round-and-round the flange area, never dwell on one spot too long. Keep kicking the tire, eventually it will come free.
Sorry, that's very drastic, but penetrating oil, etc, will help
WD40 is not a penetrating oil, just a lubricant. It's not for getting rusted things apart.
Finally got the buggers off. I used penetrating oil and let is soak for a while and nothing. I finally had a neighbor come over with his friend. We each had a concrete pry bar (the 5 foot length ones), slid each one between the dually tires and started reefing on them. That still didn’t work!!!!! Finally the neighbor’s friend got a 12lb sledge and started whacking the hub while we were reefing on the rims. Success!!!!! We managed to get them off!!!! I cleaned up the rims painted the hubs and rims, and put anti-seize on the hub. Thanks again for the replies.
