Radiator Coolant Additive
Does anyone know the Ford part number for the radiator coolant additive for my 2002 7.3 liter?
Just bought it and I want to change out the radiator coolant and add the recommended OE recommended additive. Thanks for the help!

What color is your coolant? If it came with the gold stuff, just replace it with Zerex G-05. If it came with green, I'd just use PenCool 3000 as the additive. I think it's better stuff than the Ford product.

Thanks. It is the green coolant. The truck is a 2002, but was manufactured in August 2001. The current owner I am buying it from says it has a sticker on the radiator saying to use only the green coolant, which I am guessing is the standard glycohol based coolant.

I believe PenCool (once marketed industrially by Nalco and called NalCool) has a biocide added to the standard ethylene glycol mix. Its very common in diesels used throughout industry and recommended by some makers like Detroit. FYI, its used in emergency diesel generators at nuclear power plants, so it will probably do the trick in a 7.3.
