I'm thinking about trading my van in on a Ranger. Gas prices are starting to hurt. I was lookng around for a dealer, and found a Mazda dealer fairly close. Is there any reason to go Ford over Mazda? Or are they twins? Thanks!
Mazdas are about $1000 more, current MSRP. For my 2003 Mazda, there are about two TSBs. For the corresponding 2003 Ford, there are over 100.
Mazda's don't really come in stripped models. My short cab, short bed has CD, cruise, tilt, split bench, sliding window, etc.. Specs out the same as a Ranger XLT, with nice clearcoated "sunburst red" paint.
The manual tranny isn't great, but it should get you to 100k or so without a problem.
Gee, built on the same assembly line, one in front of the other, and the number of TSBs is that different? Hmmmm, seems Mazda doesn't let you know what is wrong, but FoMoCo does. The guys nailing these things together could care less the badge on the grill. Same truck. Same build speed. Same assembly line. Same workers. Same suppliers. Same problems, they just don't let you know.
Hyraulic clutches are fine. Just a blip at this point in time that you see the problems. I have heard they are hard to bleed when you relace the master or slave. Manual or Auto are both OK, your choice.
