i was talking to one of my rc buddies that works at a dealer ship called
and he said that ford owns mazda now
if u notice the new corvette looks alot like the mazda rx8 so if forrd owns mazda then chevy is comping them
oh ya mazda has another car the chevy is building a look alike version to it
some years of ranger pickups (90s?) are mazda's with different badges.
ford used some mazda transmissions in light full size trucks too.
I think the Curier pickups might have been mostly Mazda too (but i may be wrong on that)
Ford owns somehwere around 40-45% of Mazda. Several years ago, when Mazda was in the dumper, Ford wnated a mojority share in the company. Tha Japs said now way. But Ford got Mazda to install some Ford people in marketing and design areas to help straighten things out. So much for Jap car companies being perfect huh? But you'll never hear this from the rice-lovers. Their mfrs can do no wrong.
The Probe was actually renamed. It was supposed to be the new (1988) Mustang built by Mazda. Luckily, someone came to their sences. The Mustang was redesigned, the name Probe was adopted to that new front wheel drive platform and the rest is history.

I never knew that. The Probe is pretty quick, looks good, but it could never be a Mustang.
