i know some of guys have the kenne bell blowers. i have a 01 f150 with the 4.6. i have true duals, short tube headers, 75mm tb, chip and a 90mm maf. i know that some of this will help when i am able to add the supercharger. what else will need and what am i looking at for price on the blower kit from kenne bell?
from what i have read. the kenne bell will be the best supercharger for my truck. is there any other supercharger i need to look at that is a twin screw?
just an update. don't worry about the kenne bell blower. i just called kenne bell. they have done away with a 4.6 kit. if there is a twin screw other than kenne bell. please let my know. if not, then i will be going with the prochager. thanks to all.
i have been checking around. ford racing has one that looks like the one allen had before they shut down. the only thing i see wrong with it is that is doesn't have a intercooler. what do yall think?
Getting an intercooler to work with a twinscrew supercharger is darn near impossible.
I have seen a coulple with water jackets running around the inlet manifold to cool the intake air, but even then the improvements aren't as good as an intercooler.
Ford Lightning's have an air to water intercooler that works great. The blower is an Eaton 112 twin screw type (roots). It has a heat exchanger under the blower, and the IC under the radiator. It works with it's own coolant tank and an electric water pump.
Go to trixterracing.com You will be amazed at what they have done with 4.6,s..I have always thought the Bell and Whipple ones were the best too.But I am also looking at the Procharger..The intercooler will work wonders to cool the intake charge.Which will have even greater advantages in hot weather..Just a thought.Hope it helps..
Some other parts to consider before installing your blower: driveshaft loop, traction bars, and even upgrading to a good LSD like an Eaton to eliminate the "one wheel peel".
Once you install the blower, the chip will have to be sent back to be reprogramed.
