Wouldn't a website with downloadable skematics be nice? I own a 90 bronco (not the little sh**ty kind), and want to rebuild the 12 year old tranny, but getting ahold of the blueprints would make this job go from tough to nothing... anyone else out there think a site should offer this kind of assistance?
My buddy and I bought one of those videos on rebuilding transmissions. He had a Dodge 727 truck tranny to rebuild, and the video was great. Neither of us had touched a transmission before, and we were even able to trick it out with tips from the video. You really need a VCR that can reverse quickly , and preferably set up on your bench. It was one of the easiest things we've done. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Hey Rocky, I agree 100%, the videos are the way to go. I rebuilt an AOD a few years ago and had problems that ended up costing me more than I care to admit. A video would have prevented the simple mistake I made. The auto trans does pose a few pitfalls to the unwary.
