Arrow Help Choose a Tennessee Chapter Logo

As you know, we are missing a Chapter logo. This is holding us back. With a logo we can have items printed up to help reconize our existence.

I have reached out to other people to help us overcome this little goal.

Below is a return letter....

Hi, thanks for writing, I'm Randy. Thanks for the compliment, but how did you know I did any.

Right now I'm swamped and probably for the next few weeks at least, but if you have patience and can wait that long, I'd be happy to help.

If you or your members have some ideas on what you'd like to see in the logo, let me know.

I've had other chapters ask for help, but they never got back to me w/any ideas and you and your members no Tennessee, I've only flown in and out of there (but planning to visit someday).

If your chapter members are willing to help, I'm up for it. Oh wait, you're the Volunteer state, I would expect lotsa help! I already know the FTE guidelines, but I need "Tennessee stuff" and NOT Jack Daniels labels!

Let me know if the timeframe works for you. If your members are really into it, have the grab images for me to use (hi-res images) and you can email them. If they can't do that, do an internet search and tell me where I can get them from.

Talk to you soon,
Randy

So we have a few weeks to decide on what we would like for a Chapter logo & to get the images that Randy will need to create this wonderful achomplishment for up.

I was thinking that our logo could be a outline on our wonderful state color like the American Flag with the FTE logo centered upon it. Across the top of the FTE logo & still inside the tennessee outline it would say Tennessee Chapter wrapped with our state flag.

Any other suggestions or comments? Please post them since we have a few weeks to come to a conclusion.

I have a few ideas - one is we should be working on a T-shirt design, another though is that MUD TRUCKS are real popular in Tennessee - I think any good shirt from TN ought to feature them!

Here are some logo ideas I've been tinkering with:

http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=8/21612592528.gif&s=x1

And here's a background for buttons or icons if anyone wants to use it:

I hit the jackpot - found a lot of the stuff I was working on earlier!

Those are some nice logo's, but I don't like those thumb tacks stuck on that one.

Suggestions are still open & if you know anything about creating logo's, then please post what you have created.

After every idea & logo images are available, then we will have a poll to make a final decision for the Chapter logo.

I had some troubles getting these to show yesterday - lets see if I have better luck.

The floating buttons on the image were used once long ago as clickable links to the different towns in Tennessee and members who lived in or near them.
I'm thinking of using a masking technique over an FTE logo that would make it the shape of the map, with "Tennessee Chapter" beneath it.

Some of the names are wrong on the member list, but the city dots worked fine and still do!

I think anything with the state in the background is ok. Lets get something to vote on. We could start with stickers & go from there on buying more expencive things like shirts & hats

I like this last one, and I can massage it so that it shows exactly thirteen stars

There. Seems to work better like that...

Hey Greywolf! Those are looking good. IF you don't mind what program are you using to create them, as I need to get one going for Kentucky?

I've been using Dreamweaver and Fireworks 3 for several years. DW4 and FW4 are way high priced, and they don't offer all that much of an improvement if you know some other basics. You can probably find a copy at a used software outlet or on Amazon for just about dirt cheap - I bought it new in the box in about 2001 or so for $299.oo

Used has got to be down to around $75 about. Even though its an older version I still have not used all of its capabilities.

Nice thing about it is that it saves projects as PNG's so that you can go back and re-arrange stuff and make changes later. Then export them as NEW jpg or whatnot images.

BINK!

Brand new graphics...

Stand by - I think I have a good T-shirt layout:
(though I can see a part of it I messed up a little)

- I've been fighting some problems with my PC that I found were being caused by Age of Empires II. Just deleted the program and everything runs fine again.

I was sort of hoping for more inputs from other than me...
