I have a 1999 F150 and am having a problem with the keyless entry remote. It used to work at long distance and now I have to be standing right next to the truck for it to work. Before you all laugh, I have changed the battery. I've got two remotes and both are doing the same thing. I called my Ford dealer and they told me that didn't sound right and that the module either works of doesn't.
I have a few questions:
1) Has anyone else had this problem and what was the solution?
2) Where is the sensor/module located? I've been told anything from behind the dash to in the door.
3) If anyone has a pic, would you please post?
Are you sure you just did not get bad batteries, or try to re inialize the remotes with the key switch. couldn't hurt. But know I have no idea whete the switch is.
I have had this happen to me on other vehiciles and it turned out to be a bad remote. thats why I reccommended to re iunialiized the remotes.

if you touch the remote to your chin before pressing the buttons, it will work from a much greater distance....sounds crazy but it uses your body as a transmitting antenna. Try it.
