Pretty much. That's one of the things Ford did right.

I just took the seats out of the 74 crew. If we get another dry afternoon/evening this coming week I'm gonna see what it takes to get the 99 F-50 60/40 spril bench in the crew. Right now it doesn't look like it will be hard at all.

What about the compatibility of the REAR Bench seat from a 79 and earlier SuperCab with the 1991 to 1996 SuperCab?

The upper portion bolts in, but the bottom does not. The lower mount is very different, the holes are farther apart, and the metal cover is almost 1 inch narrower?

Anyone else swapped out the 79 or older rear bench seat for a matching newer 96 or older rear bench seat? If so, how did you get it to work?

Thanks,
-Chris

I would think they would be similar to putting any other bucket in = custom brackets...

I put a 86 seat in my 78 F-150. I then found a better 94 seat, and put it in my 78, took the 86 seat out and put it in my 70 F-100. All with just a swap of the brackets on the bottom of the seat.

Chasetruck, what front seats do you have now? I think I remember reading something about seats out of a late model dodge. What year are they and how hard were they to mount?

40/20/40 out of an '02 or so stupid duty. Only the rear is in so far (pics below) based on the fact that I am moving the shop right now.

I am going to try and use the stock power motors so mounting will be tricky. I will be sure to post up pics whenever I get back to it.

The pics of my "old" front seat (out of 99 F-150) can be seen in a gallery.

This rear seat was easy to mount because it was on the non slider mounts for the rear of the crew cabs.

Ok, so sorry for turning this thread into the never dieing zombie, but I have to know, I get that the front seats are pretty much swappable.
But I have a 1976 Supercab, what are the options for rear seats? I just read above, that a 91-96 doesn't work. Do 1980-1990 work? Are there any other options? Or are we just SOL?

pathom -

I've been waiting almost 4 years for an answer to that question.

the crew cabs are supposedly easy... But no info on the super cabs. I had a matching front and rear out of a 96... They were in super nice shape, but I just couldn't get the rear to work...

Well if you find anything interesting, please post back.

Where I am there are not a lot of specimens to measure/check.

thanks,

Pretty sure these 70's supercabs are their own beast as for the rear unless you do a very custom bracket to put in a late 90's-2000 era seat. I'd love to be proved wrong though.

So here is a dumb question... Not sure if anyone has ever thought of it yet.

What about the seats in econolines? I think they mostly have buckets in the front which might work with those bronco brackets but they also have those 2 - 3 rows of benches in the back. They appear very similar in size and if the rear seats of a crew cab works then these might also. Can anyone compare part numbers to see if they are the same? Or has anyone used these.

Decent Seats seem to be hard to come by; I have been watching out for one at PNP for the last year or so without. Kinda figure that I might just pay the $350 to get mine redone. If these puppies fit it might open up a much bigger selection to choose from. I have always noticed at the junkyards, the back seats are in better shape than the fronts presumably from less wear and weather. This will be nice.

Also... What about the back seat in full size broncos? I know they have the brackets for the latch in back and the pins in front... Surely these come off without to much trouble and the bench brackets can be bolted on; even if these need a couple holes drilled its not that complicated.

The rear Bronco benches are so comfy!!
