Fixin it up

I have a 78 F-150 with a 351 cleavland 2b auto transmission i dont really know what kind of carb {but i am pretty sure it is the one that came on the truck new} or most of the stuff on the truck is
and i dont know a lot about trucks or cars for that matter but i would like to learn and i would like some help on knowing what i could do to the engine to get more speed and power just something faster and remeber i am in school so i dont have bill gates type of funding. so something not really expensive any help would be nice

That engine will be a 351M which is in te Cleveland family..

There are a Multitude of Threads relating to this topic.
