Based on 37 years at about 15,000 miles a year average with one ticket and no at-fault accidents and only two not-at-fault, 9. The key is to pay attention to what you are doing at all times. Pilot training also helped me learn energy and risk management. Speed needs to be appropriate to conditons, not just what is posted on a sign. Getting a "sense" as to what someone else is about to do also goes a long way in staying safe. It does no good to be legal and dead.
i would say im an 8-9.... ive driven so many miles and im only 19... i love to drive and have been doing it since i could reach the pedels... (i drove our combine with a hydrostat at the age of 7... when friends are with me i usually tear around a little more. and i also usually wait till liek midnight to drive home from school whenever i go, which is a 3 hour drive.. then i can go fast and not worry about ppl, just little eyes walking our in front of me)
in high school (from the age of 14 to 18) i drove 60,000 miles in my 78f-250 and i never had a true accident, i did run a deer over, but i was chasing it... along with many many coyotes... and to this day i havnt been in a car accident thank god.

i am in the 9-10 class. i average 50-70 thousand miles per year, and have only had 1 ticket for a dirty liscence plate in the past 30 years.
as far as accidents are concerned, i have been hit 3 times, twice rearended by drunk drivers, and the third time i was sitting at a red light in the left lane to cross the highway. the jerk in the right lane ,a right turn only lane, decided he wanted to turn left, and parked a tanker with 8 thousand gallons of hightest gas on the hood of my brand new, 2 day old mack, causing $25,000 in damages to the hood, motor, radiator, airconditioner, and cab
I'm still new to driving, I'm still kinda sketchy on directions.. I was in one accident, just a fender bender, but as minor as it was, I never ever ever want that feeling again, knowing that i just caused damage to a strangers vehical. Now when i drive, I am very cautious of other people, I expect them to cut me off, jam the brakes.ect.. I stay about 100 or more feet away from people on the highways, and keeep good distance between people on regular roads. Bacicly, I dont want to be in another accident, ever..
Well lets see....I've driven for 28 years and only one ..no fault accident. Yeah I have or had a few speeding tickets( maybe 6 in total ). I try to keep an eye on things down the road, but I get really choked at stupid people doin stupid things on the road. I'll rate myself as an 8.5.
Are you asking my opinion or that of the local law enforcement agencies?
I rate myself a solid 4. Cops rate me a solid -10
I am a danger to myself, I like to drive FAST, the faster the better when conditions allow.
I do not do this in the city, or around other traffic.
Unfortunately this relates to having spent more money in court than I have spent on vehicles in my lifetime$$$$$$$$
Currently 150 million miles (cars, truck, big truck, motorcycles) with no accident of my fault.
You think I'm kidding, but I am not. I feel like the worse driver out there, but in the long run I am more observant of others & my surroundings.
Let's see. If you have been driving for 30 years that would be 5,000,000 miles per year. That would be 13,698.63 miles per day! And that's if you drive 24/7/365. So you must either drive really really fast or you are seriously old!!! LOL
