Wheel width & Backspacing?

Thinking about getting some in-expensive Rockcrawler wheels to upgrade my stock wheels and get 33x12.50x 15 BFG Mud Terrains.

What width wheel and back spacing should I get?

89, 302 Stock susp, quad shock.

I wouldn't go any bigger than a 15X10 and 4.00- 3.00 backspacing orFront wheel bearings won't like you very much. Jmo-Bob

What is the stock back spacing? and is the measurement taken from the iner lip to the bolt holes? My logic is off because I would think that 4" back spacing when bring the wheel closer to the inside.

This is what I am looking at

15x10" 5 on 5.5 w.2.5" backspacing

You are correct- it does bring the wheel closer to inside (saving bearing wear) as the 10" is going to be 2+ over stock sticking out side. MY stock aluminum or whatever they are was 15X7.5 w/3.75. I measured mine from yes inner lip to closest bolt hole. Alot of guys run those with no issues you may be fine but I hate to take the hubs apart and I'm not a liker of the stuck out tire thing- so I stuck with 15X8 3.75 backspacing I have 33-12.5-15 coopers here a pick of my truck

Nice truck slickerthanyou. I'd go with either 15x8 or 10, If you think you'd get bigger tires down the road get the 10s, but the 8s would work no problem. Backspacing would be fine anywhere from 3-4", but at full lock to lock turns your tires might rub the radius arms alittle.

slickerthanyou, where did you get that visor and the handle behind the door? Those *are* slick.

And with your 3.75" backspacing do you have any problems? And does your tire stick out from the body at all (not including fender flares)?

The stock backspacing is about 4 3/8", and you don't want anything significantly different than that, under most circumstances.
