cabin filter/AC issue and Steering problem

does my 2003 EB Expy have a cabin filter for the AC unit? Smells kinda funky lately.

Also, the rear AC blows ice cold for the first 4 or 5 minutes than just gets warm. Any ideas on what to check?

Lastly, I have about 1 inch of play in the steering before feeling any resistance, Is there something easy to check for this?

Thanks in advance!

As for your steering, it sounds like either the steering box itself or the pitman arm. If you have a buddy or the like to help, have them slowly turn the wheel left to right as you check it from underneath. Just do the short turns or till the resistance is felt.

The smell could simply be some mold in you ducts, there was a spray for it but I am unaware of its name. I'm sure an antibacterial would work.

Now the rear A/C may have a bad control valve, but it sounds like its freezing up. When it starts to get warm, turn it off for about 5-10 minutes then turn it back on. It should blow cold again, if that's the case, I suspect an overcharge of the system and the freeze up condition. My front unit has this problem.

Your Expy does not have a cabin air filter.

Anyone have any idea where this control valve would be?
How do I fix the overcharge problem?

To fix a possible overcharge prob. you will need either A/C experience or a tech. The rear unit is a self sustaining unit on your passenger side by the rear hatch. Though it does get its charge from the front. You can see the lines running underneath.
I don't know myself where this control valve sits, but it has to be near the rear unit, possibly attainable from underneath.

Oh, fyi, an undercharged system can do this also.
