As it turns out, it looks like I won't have to do this. I was having trouble with a breaker tripping. It turned out the breaker bar was wired incorrectly. Since the fix, no problems wth the tail light/brake light functioning as it should.
I was thinking that using a relay would create a better functioning brake light.
Had not thought about the turn signal. I don't have one installed yet, but will likely be doing that in the future, so the brake light relay would not have been a good idea.
