Unhappy Speedo Sensor Switch question...

Hello to everyone, I have a question concerning the speedo sensor switch (on rear gear housing). On my '99 Motorhome Ford chassis, the speedo stopped working but the odometer and trip feature both function. Is this a definite switch problem? If this switch is located on the rear end, what is the other switch that comes out of the driver side of the transmission and looks like an electronic speed sensor with 2 wires coming out of it. And which one if any would be the culprit. I appreciate hearing from anyone with any ideas on this problem which has me plagued.........thanks in advance........

If your speed sensor quit working, you should also have a check engine light, and possibly an ABS light if you have this feature. You would get a VSS sensor failed code from the engine computer. Possibly it's just the speedo itself.
