Going to buy a 2000 Super duty V-10 Soon.. Has anyone the Expertise on what a Superchips Chip would do for me towing? Milege(not a real issue), Torque, Horsepower?? Seems to be alot of Claims but Hope I will get a real deal answer here! Thanks
It will make a noticiable difference with power. The V10 really gains in the torque department with the Superchips, but you're going to get even more with an SCT Xcalibrator2. Mileage generally goes up a slight amount but don't buy the chip for mileage because you have to run premium to get that gain so your fuel costs say about the same.

Ken, how much can I expect in torque gains with my 2003 V-10? Is it possible to set up a program that will give one an option to defeat torque converter lock up on the 4R100?
ken just did a xcal 1 up for me. give me a few days a i will let you both know first hand.
by the way kens price on a custom tune is much better then any where else i looked .it's worth checking out our sponsers first then compare. again ken has done a great job making sure we get a good deal all around.
Just got my xcal2 today. Don't have any numbers as far as gains. But its a noticable improvement. Not sure what everyone is charging, but mine was inexpesive compared to the Diablo tuners I have bought for other vehicles in the past. I think the fact that the Xcal 2 can read trouble codes will save me some money down the road.
Well what can everyone tell me about the best chip and results. I'm new to the V10 (convert from four 7.3 powerstrokes, last two with Superchips) and tow a 33' fifth wheel. I haven't attempted a tow yet (just picked up this '02 V10 CC, longbed with 3:73's [only 20K miles]) and am sure it has the horsepower but torque won't be the same as PSD so I'd like to increase that slightly.
I see the SCT is relatively inexpensive from one of the site sponsors www.motorhaven.com, and sounds like two of the moderators favor this over the superchip. I'm really just looking for advice and info from you guys that have tried the options with the V10. What does everyone think !!!
thanks
Craig
Right now the best solution for the V10 is the SCT Xcalibrator2. If and when Diablo comes out with a Predator to support it, then there may be a serious challenger.
