Frame differences

Sorry i havent replied sooner. Im in oklahoma for training and the past week has been hectic while I have settled in for the next 10 weeks. I appreciate all the info you guys have collected for me. It has really helped in my decision making. I live in ohio...not good for vehicles. Down here in OKC I'm hard pressed to find a rusty vehicle!!! Yesterday I found an Edsel ( Yes, I did say Edsel) She was sitting on 4 flat tires, no plates. hassn't been moved in years from the looks of it. NO RUST!!! I can see my wife's face now if I were to tell her I just picked up a classic car for her!!!!!

I realise this is a much later truck, but maybe it indicates a trend at Ford. My uncle & my cousin both have 1980 F100's. I'm not sure about thickness or size, but their frames have big holes cut through them near the middle of the truck. The F150's and up do not.
