1955- 1956 frame

Does anyone know there is a difference between the frame of a 1955 F100 and the frame of a 1956 F100???
I have a 55 and a 56, and was going to use some parts from the 55 on the 56.

Thanks Guys

The battery tray and the gas tank mount on the driver's side running board brackets.
The 55 will work for the 56 but if you use the 56 for the 55 you will need to swap out the running board brackets if you intend to use the "under the cab" stock tank.

Other than the Vin Stamp, The running board mounts are a little different for the battery and gas tank mounts.

It's been said before but is worth mentioning again.

The passenger frame rail VIN is the only True VIN for a vehicle. If you swap a frame the "new" vehicle should carry the frames VIN. Many states are really serious about this for our old Trucks.

Just a heads up so you don't have registration & licensing problems.

Not to beat an old horse but the "TRUE VIN" info as posted by BJ is not true in all states, so check with yours if doing numbered part changes.
