Today I just purchased a 99' f150. When test driving it etc everything was fine,it drove smooth, didnt pull, etc. On the way home my mom got behind me at one point once getting home she said it looked like the rear left wheel was wobbling around a bit. Turns out next time I left the house I looked in the mirror and checked it out. Sure enough the wheel was what looked like wobbling side the side.
Any suggestions as to what this could be? Bent frame, bent rim, bearings?

Sounds like a bent rim. First check the lug nuts, they could be loose. However, if that is not the case, put your spare on and see if it still does it. If it turns-out to be the wheel, think about aftermarker wheels, for the price of one factory aluminum wheel you can usually buy a whole set of aftermarket aluminum wheels, if you don't go crazy. Now, if the wheel is fine, then it is a bent axle. That should be pretty easy to replace, you'll just need to get one from a junk yard, or from the dealer.
Quite pissed indeed. The locks are also giving me a bit of trouble. They will only lock/unlock using the buttons on the inside every once in awhile. For example if I let it sit a few hours and try its fine but if I try them again right away they will only move about 1/2 way or so then freeze. When using the lock/unlock pad for the alarm they seem to work fine though.
schiza, bad luck. I also found out after the fact that the pass sode door door lock was jimmied up,myfulat for not finding it. but as I have said before it is a used vehicle and you have totake what you get.
you said that it feels fine and has a nice smooth ride? Are you sure something is wobbling? usually if something is bent the truck will ride horribly and vibrate real bad. did you check the tire to see if maybe it has a slight bulge or something in it. it sounds more like a sidewall has some inperfections that are making it look like you have a wobble, i've seen this many times before. if you can't feel the wobble than i wouldn't start replacing anything yet. that will get real expensive. did you take it back and ask them about the wobble.
I hadnt had a chance to actually drive 30+ with it due to traffic when I posted this. When going slow it rides fairly smooth. Once you hit 50+ the back seems to shake around pretty bad and get bouncy.
Switching them out is a SLIGHT problem. I will probably just have to swap around the rear two tires within the next few days once I get a jack. I dont believe that the factory jack will go high enough to lift it althought I may be wrong and the spare is factory while the others are 36".
if it has 36" tires i wouldn't be suprised if something else is bent besides the rim. with a 36 tires it doesn't take much to break or bend things. you might just want to take the rim out and measure its runout.
I took it to discount tire today. No problem with wheel, no other physical damage to the truck. Turns out all 4 needed to be balanced. Its A LOT better although it still has a VERY SLIGHT "wobble" but nothing that im worried about/cant feel but can see if I look in the mirror and really pay attention or maybe im seeing things.
