Okay here is the age old question but im new to the truck world so here is my Q i have a 99 f-250 with the 7.3. and it has a 2.5 leveling kit but i would like to run 35s so what size lift would i want?
I am also gona do a goose neck and i will be hauling 2 Jeeps and i refuse to run skyjacker thanks for the help!
First off, welcome to FTE! Check out the locked thread at the top of this forum, entitled "Super Duty FAQ's...". Click on that, then click on the truck, then on "Aftermarket Stuff". Once that page opens, drag the elevator down about 2/3rds the way down the page until you see the info on what the maxinum size tires you can run with what amount of lift. Viola!!! Keep in mind your leveling kit though and factor that in accordingly.
one thing to keep in mind also, i ahve a 6" lift with 35sx12.5 (pics in gallery) and i had to cut some of the plastic at the bottom outer edges of the front bumber, it may not be so much that you need much more lift but the front bumber would need trimming, everywhere else on the truck you got a ton of clearence
i think eventually i will trim the entire edge of the front bumber on the sides (just gotta make it look good)
I agree. You have some triming to do. You will also have to cut about 2-4 inches off the rear portion of the inner-fender. Then tap a few holes through the inner fender and with thick plastic zip ties or metal bands you can pull back the inner fender 1-2 inches!
4 inch or 6 inch, either one will look good with 35's. I have a 6 inch with 35's and i have never rubbed once anywhere, i have good clearance everywhere. I have a buddy who had a 4 inch lift with 35's on his superduty and he pulled a gooseneck for his work all the time, but i have no experience with pulling a gooseneck with a 6 inch lift.

If you run a 4" I would suggest a Deaver Spring in Front they have a no sag guarantee and they have been in business for 100 years. If you go with a 4" spring and it sags you are going to rub on 35's. You will have to run a 4 to 5" block and towing you will get some axle wrap. You can always run a rear traction bar as a fix for that. I know you can tow a goose neck with a 6" Lift but you will have to increase the block size to 5 or 6" block. You can run an aftermarket spring (5" Rear) but depending on the weight of the trailer you will probably want to run a set of air bags at that point. Is the 2.5" leveling kit a Leaf spring or a hanger?
