Awww crap.....I gotta change the oil when I get the body work done....Speaking of which,What type of oil do these little engines need? Can I use straight 30 or does it have to be some special oil?
Thanks.
My wife drives a '97. She loves it. Little 4 banger has plenty of power for her. I do replace the front brake pads on a regular basis. Not a bad repair. Takes me longer to take the tires off than to replace the pads. Not sure about the gasmilage, she has a heavy foot and fills up once a week. She drives 50 miles round trip everyday. 150k had to replace front and rear seals. (take it to a shop and make this their problem, I promise you, do it once and you will never do it again).
Other than normal maintenance, this is the only thing I have had to do to it. Great car.

I tell you what,If you need a part for the '96s around here,You're screwed. I had to call 30 junkyards to find all my stuff. And then to find out the passenger side headlight assembly is busted...... I hope he'll give me a replacement. For the first time,I seen a old fashoned boneyard. No computers,Just books and radios. Hell, the place didnt even have A/C,just an old attic fan used years ago.
I hope I can get this thing built by tommarow....
Welcome to the world of being a Toyota owner, Cruise...
When my '85 4Runner needed a new front leaf spring, I had to drive all over creation to find a junkyard that had one.
I loved my 'Yotas but the cost and availablility of parts drove me crazy sometimes!

Not to mention the pain it is to replace a fender......I got into positions I didn't know the human body could get in to get some bolts out. I left like 3 out when I got the new one on,They were the ones way inside on top of the bumper but didnt do anything. Its still solid as a rock. (For a Yota that is,Lol.) Ah well. Aside from the fact the hood is gray, the car is green and the fender is blue I did'nt do to bad.
It kind of makes you miss the cars and trucks from the 70s and 80s where you could literally crawl inside the engine bay and close the hood on yourself while working on the engine, eh?
Best 'o luck to ya, I would much rathar work on my F-150 than any of the 'Yotas I owned. At least I can get my F-150's oil filter off without bashing my knuckles and using every swear word in the book.
