Hello All!!!

Hello my name is Greg and Im a Ford-aholic

I just bought a 1998 F-150 XLT 2WD EXT cab that I am in the process of putting a 7.5" Fabtech suspension lift and some Mickey Thompson 35X12.50X15's on. This is a new thing for me Ive always had hot rods and low riders so I will probably have alot of questions for you all. Does anyone have any experience with this lift? Does anyone have this lift with 15" rims? if so how necessary is the 4" backspacing?
I also own a 1987 Ranger XLT with a built 289 stuffed in it & tubbed out that I love to play with on weekends.

I want to say thanks in advance for any help yall can give me on this new project

15" rims won't clear the brakes, you need to go with 16" or bigger. You can probably find alot of good info down at the 4X4/off road forum

welcome to FTE!

How wide are the rims?

The smallest rim diameter used by Ford on this model is 16" Like triton_2002 said, you might have problems with the 15's.

Well, there are variations with different wheels, but the general rule is that 15's won't fit. Take it to the wheel shop and test fit the rims.

edit: I just realized you have a 98. The 97-98's are a little different that 99-03, so you may be in luck.

I just read on ford-trucks.com that the 15" aftermarket rims will fit? I will have to do some more investigating Ive got the tires on the way now I sure hope they will fit...

If anyone has 15" rims please ease my mind

Well my search has proven you to be right.....I geuss I will try to stop shipment on the 15's. The bad part is the wheels I am looking for dont come in a 16x10 only in a 16x8 with the 5lug 135mm. I am not sure how much of a difference that will make with a 35x12.50x16 tire. I really like the wide look better than the skinny look. Does anyone have a photo of 35's on a 16x8?

I found some good looking 16x10 wheels I think thats what I will go with. Does any1 have any pics of a 97-03 with 35x12.50x16's on it? I would love to see one with 16x10's and 1 with 16x8's both with 35x12.50's..

16x10's should clear my 98 f150 brakes right? I am torn between the ION 138's or the ION 148's. Does anyone have these wheels and how are they holding up? Any pics would be greatly appreciatted. I have the 35x12.50x16 tires awaiting some rims and cant make up my mind and cant seem to find any pics with these on a lifted truck
