y pipe confusion

I have seen a true Y pipe from bassani with a single cat before. Now when I am trying to buy one all I can come up with are the 2 seperate pipes with 2 cats. Does anyone know where I can find one. It will be on 95 250 5.8 4x4.
I have ordered a bassani catalog, but two weeks later.....still not here.

Would there be a difference between the f150 and 250 part. I didnt think there was, but when i called product info to get a price I was told there was no such thing.

you might just have a local muffler shop make you one.

the location of the cat is diffrent, your truck probly has one Big cat, and the y pipe is two pipes from the manifolds, to a flange, then into two, correct me if im wrong, but the f-150 has a y pipe that is joined up by the transmission if im not mistaken,

does this mean that the equal length headers advertised for the 5.8 f150 would not work on my 250 either? wicked bummer if so

the reason i am looking into the 2 into 1 pipe is I was hoping to use my existing cat back system, rather than merge the pipes after the cat.

Anyone using bassani equipped 250's out there?? How did you do it?

The F-150 and F-250 exhausts are almost completely different.

The F-150 uses straight manifolds that come down, the y-pipe comes down and over to the passanger side into the 1st cat. The first cat is a 2 into 1...where it goes 2 pipes down to 1....goes to the 2nd cat...out to the muffler...and either single or dual tailpipes. Single for a 4.9 or 5.0, dual for 5.8.

The F-250 has air injection lines going to the exhaust manifolds, and doesn't have the y-pipe that the F-150 has. The F-250 has dual pipes going down most of the truck, into 1 big cat, then to muffler...then out the tailpipes.

F-250 exhausts are difficult to modify.

You can't use F-150 headers on an F-250. They have the AIR tubes going to each individual cylinder on the manifold/header itself. You'd have to plumb them in somehow, which was discussed in that thread I linked. Hope your not overlooking that, so I am mentioning it again.

What e-fan did you go with?

I went with flex a lite's 295, the dual 13.5" model. I was worried about the larger dual 15" fitting. Should flow plenty, and make a little room in the engine bay. Thanks for the heads up on the headers, I will have to lok into that very soon!!!

I probably just ordered some headers that are useless to me
Wont be able to talk with anyone until monday morning, so I will find out how much of an idiot I am then. Its better to know now than to find out when I get them here. thanks again for the help.
It looks like BBK and Mac offer headers without the air injection, or that are not specific to the 150 only. Would the equal length, over regular shorties, realy gain me anything? The truck is just a daily driver that likes to hammer down once in a while.

Not really going to gain much, I didn't go with those bassani headers. I went with regular shorties. I wanted the easy spark plug access instead. Check out that link i gave ya in depth...

Still waiting on parts. I dont think anything will land here until the middle of the month though. Recently purchased a Hesco reman motor that is waiting for all of the goodies to show up.
When I called about the headers, I was told that they did not have the air injection, and would work for a 250, but who knows until they get here. I was also interested in aftermarket ignitions with mpg in mind. Does the Jacobs milage master actualy provide better mpg results than others, or just sustain the life of my plugs which gives me more consistant mpg in the long run? Hope that question makes sense... thanks
