My 1999 F550 stalls in the rain. never when its dry. I am told it may be a cam sensor ?? I have a cracked air-cleaner cover. Is it more likely moisture is getting past the air-cleaner causing this stalling ??
Yikes! Get that air cleaner fixed ASAP. Your engine and turbo will thank you. I don't think the filter (or the lack there of) has anything to do with the stalling.
How hard is it raining when it stalls? Bucketing down? https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=277571

It seems like when any moisture is being kicked up from the road, it stalls. As soon as the pavement starts to dry,its okay again.
My 2000 PSD does the exact same thing. It will go for weeks fine but let it mist a little rain and the motor will stall or miss. The check engine light will come on sometimes but as soon as the key is switched off it will reset so the shop cannot pull the code. I left the truck running so they could pull the code but they have to kill the engine to hook up the machine!

Get a CPS ( cam position sensor ) it fixed the stalling in wet weather problem my truck had. As I said above some CPS seem to be more sensitive to moisture then others. You can usually find them cheap on Ebay or go to your local International dealer, don't buy from Ford they are way expensive.
It may be the IDM. It's located on the inner fenderwell on the drivers side. You can find it by tracing the injector harness back to it. Some people have problems with dirt building up and allowing water to flow into the unit. Something to look at. One guy could make it stall by shaking the truck with his hands. His was sloshing full of water.
