replacing air cleaner

I have a 86 carb 351w and i'm wanting to replace the stock air cleaner with a edelbrock aircleaner. now there is a sensor or something at the tip of the intake, and i think there are two vacuum tubs going into the side of the air cleaner (only guessing they are vacuum hoses) when i put the new air cleaner on what do i do with those lines?

There should be a warm air supply from a shroud on the exhaust via a 2" tube to the underside of the air cleaner "snout". Inside the "snout' is a thermostatically controlled flapper valve. In cold weather the valve allows warm air from the exhaust shroud to flow up through the tube and into the carburetor. Once the engine is warm enough the valve switches to allow outside air to the carburetor. Helps with cold engine drivability. When you get rid of the stock air cleaner, just get rid of the vacuum lines and cap the vacuum port to which one of them is attached. Without the heated air, in cold weather, you will likely need to let the engine warm up for a longer time before driving off.

I see you live in Canada. Don't throw any of the original aircleaner stuff away and make notes how the lines hooked up. When it gets cold and rain/snow outside, you are going to have to put the original aircleaner back to make the engine run smooth.
