has anyone ever attempted to change the body bushings on a later model Bronco? I have an 89 and I can't seem to figure out how to get the bolts out. I put an impact wrench on the bolts but they just keep spinning. I can't seem to find anywhere to put backup on a nut that may be spinning on the top b/c I don't think I can get to it.
How Did You Reattach The Bolts If You Cut Them Off?
I Was Thinking About Doing That But I Don't Even Know How The Things Are Secured In There. Is It A Bolt With A Nut On The Other End? Thats What It Seems Like B/c When I Turn The Bolt, I Accomplish Nothing. It Seems Like The Nut Is Turning Too. I Can't Find Nowhere To Put Backup To Hold The Nut.
Here are some pics- the front two are on Core support but-You have to lift up carpet and remove the oval covers to get to 6 of them and the last two you can get by removing the rear carpet and threshold by the tailgate. There are 10 total.
I tried soaking mine in WD-40 for weeks but still had to cut them! I also added a bodylift since i had to replace mounts. I used Polyurethane mounts too!
speaking of bodylifts. I need to raise my body about an inch. The wheels I put on there (33"x12.5") will rub when I am turning in reverse. Are there any kits out there that I can just get an 1" of lift or should I just get longer bolts and put about 5 washers on each?
