manual trans transmission leak present I put a pint of 90w oil in
was that correct?
also maybe the transfer case leaks too what do i put in there and how do I check the level
I saw two large torx type bolts for an impact wrench do I check levels here
also do I need an additive for the differential?
to check the fluid in the t case, theres two plugs with square fittings, just put a 3/8 ratchet in there and take the top one out, the bottom is for drainin, thats asuming that you have the b/w 1356 case, but if theres two torx bolts, then you have the np 208, just pull the top one and top er off.
easy enough but was i correct in putting 90w oil in transmission
the fluid in there looks red to me and the 90w is clear
did bubba the local mechanic put in the wrong fluid when the top gasket was changed?
well, ive seen lots of manual trannys that take auto tranny fluid. my t case on my 88 takes auto tranny fluid, the manual tranny on my saturn takes auto tranny fluid too.
transmission fluid in the transmission thanks i had the fluid level checked at SEARS and they gave me remaining bottle of 90w and when i checked it myself i got confused
For your transmition, use transmittion fluid, your transfer case 80w90 or something similar, and your differintial use 75w90 gear oil, but IF you have a limited slip you'd want to put some friction modifier in there too.
