After seeing Cody's truck for sale I was thinking I could use some extra cash for a couple projects & I never use my 79' supercab (been finished 3 yrs & only has 8K miles)
So what I'm asking is what would you guys expect to pay for this truck in your area, https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...=43230&width=0
4.10 dana 60's front & rear, detroit in the rear, 501 ci big block with dove heads, wieand tunnel ram, KB pistons, roller rockers, Herbert full roller cam, H-beam rods, eagle 4.140 steel crank, L&L headers, 3" exkaust with flowmaster mufflers, C6 auto divorce np205, 10" lift 38" swamper ssr's with 40-50% tread on weld 16.5x12 typhoons, stock 20 gallon fuel tank plus a 60 gallon aux. tank/tool box, plumbed to fill factory tank while driving down the road, nice interior with about $2,500 in the tunes,
If you guys would just throw some prices out there what it might go for in your area,
maybe I'll sell it or maybe I'll talk myself out of it, sure seems tempting to just unload it & finish another one,
I'd say around 12,000 here in So Cal. That truck is super clean (look at that paint shine!)
Everyone here has a lifted superduty, excursion, suburban or 2100HD...Im sure someone here has money burning a hole in their pocket...wanting something that will stand out against what is becoming the 'norm'
yeah i'd say in the 10-12 range, Cody should be able to sell his truck for a lot more then what he listed it for as around here that same truck with say a 6" lift and 35's and the rest left stock would sell for a min of 10grand american or 12-13 thou canadian.
I'd be willing to say that here in Montana you would have a hard time getting anything out of it. Demographics play a HUGE part in selling something. Not to say that your truck isn't worth a hill of beans, because it's AWESOME. But people here think a little differently than me....they don't want old stuff. Personally I LOVE the old stuff; and people that fix up these old rigs are in my book.
Awesome truck, but don't regret what you do if you do sell it......
I have sold 2 trucks in my life. The first was the '73 2wd that I have now. I bought a new zx12r motorcycle in July of 2000 and neglected to call and check on the price of insurance first.......long story short, I had to sell the truck to pay for the first year's insurance costs.
I had owned that '73 for 6 years before I sold it. All I could think about was that truck. So, I called the guy up 1.5 years later and bought it back. This was after it had lived in Phoenix for a year and then Colorado Springs for a few months. Now I have it back and it's never leaving my sight again.
The second was my BABY. The first pickup I bought in 1993. It was a '74 F100 shortbox 4x4. This started out as a basketcase. 3 donor trucks later, it was a '76 F200 with 'original' perfect paint and a painted to match flatbed (short box with no rust over the wheel...yeah right). It's a long story about the F200 part.
Anyways, I sold it in '02...rather 'gave it away' in '02. I had it listed for 3 months for a price that I felt was very reasonable given the state of the body, the engine, and the interior....ended up getting half of it. I don't regret selling that truck even though I had lots of memories in it....except it never got 'broken-in'.
So, make sure it's something you want to do.
Why am I telling you this? You probably know better than I do.
Ugh, must only be Wednesday morning...off to fix more Chevys.
I'd say in the 6-8K range around here. We are kind of in the same boat as Cody, no one wants old trucks anymore. Everyone is in this huge buying war against everyone on to who has the most new trucks, which I personally think is gay!
I painted the interior this weekend, then reinstalled & aligned the doors, I'll be block sanding for the next week or so after work, hopefully by the end of the month the exterior will be painted & the body bolted back on the rolling chassis, I'll post some pics when I get my camera back,
Thanks for everyones input on what I can get out of the truck, maybe I'll put it on ebay & see what it brings, I'm thinking just throw a reserve on it for what I would let it go for, if it sells it sells, if it don't, I'll just keep it,
The DFW area of texas is moving towards big & new, unfortunately... unless its some high schooler who likes old trucks and has daddy's money to buy a competed truck in excelent cond. like yours. Anyways, with the daddy's money group, I would venture to say that you could get $10-14 out of it. It depends on how lucky you get with them... IMO, you want someone who knows a little about trucks/engines to buy yours. Maybe that is obvious, but then then they understand whats in it. Maybe then theyll even use it properly, not let it sit or tear the hell out of it senselessly (nothin wrong with that, as long as its not your old truck).
