progress so far... carpet removed and new carpet added. some pieces are black now.. working on the rest. new seatcovers ( i hate seatcovers, but i'm on a budget and these actually look ok). have the new dashcap ready to go. console is in and fits nicely. next up.. finish the trim and then buy some fabric paint for the door panels. they'll be two tone black/gray to match. If it works, i'm pulling some seats from the junkyard for the back (mine met with battery acid) and painting them as well. I've seen it done 100's of times online...but we'll see when i do it myself! fabric paint might go on the headliner as well... especially if i can pull one without holes somewhere. when the interior is done, i'm tackling the valve gaskets, plugs, wires, etc etc etc.. small tune-up and front brakes. Then i'm going to paint it i see rattle cans in my future
Looking good.. you've inspired me and my 88 BII. I have the same interior as you but mine's an automatic. I've been wondering what to do with the interior and you've now given me some ideas. The original owner painted the exterior white with a big brown strip down the center.. kinda like the newer expeditions you see on the road. (Interestingly enough, that's why he did it, to match his Expedition). Well with a blue interior it doesn't match all that well. Since I just bought my new '05 4 door Tundra this BII can now become my toy and not my primary driver... so I've been trying to think of some things to do it and if its out of comission for awhile no big deal.. got my new Tundra to get me around town...
I've been wanting to redo the interior to match the exterior but I can't think of a suitable color scheme. I wonder if I'd be better off just repainting the car blue???
Lookin GOOD!!!
When you get done you can come and do mine. All I want is to clean mine.I can't pay ya but I will make sure you ain't hungry and that you got plenty to drink.
