C4 Transmission problems
Thanks for the compliment, only thing is that I have had the 4x4 for about 16 years now! I hope that the F100 doesn't take that long!
I took the advice and just filled it with new trans fluid and also threw in a can of Seal reconditioner. Its early days as I have not managed to move it yet as it was in the back of the shop on stands. But it looks like the gears are now being selected at tick over.
So hopefully it will all be ok!

If you can, flush the coolant lines & cooler, while you're replacing the filter. B&M, among others, make a drain plug kit that can be fitted to your pan, or you can get an aftermarket pan, which nearly all have a plug. I'd plan on changing filters & fluid at least twice. Here in the States, most transmission shops can actually flush the whole system for you, including trans internals; you can do a reasonably similar job yourself, just depends on your preferences at the time.
The vacuum line needs to be connected to manifold vacuum.
The C6 is a good trans and durable; hopefully you won't need a rebuild. Good luck!
