call dana spicer with the tag info from your diff I dont have the number but you dhould be able to find it on the web try one of the 800 number search pages.
All Dana/Spicer axles have a BOM (Bill of Material) number. it will be six digits followed by another number. example is 610023-8. The 610023 says 1978/1979 Dana 60 front with Hi-Pinion in a FORD. The '-8' says it has a 4.10:1 ratio with Trac-Loc diff. Chevy by example would be 610033-2 OR -5 for a 1978 D-60 for CHEVY(btw this will be low pinion) with 4.10:1 with open diff.
The diff tag, if still the origanal, will have the BOM stamped on it.
The axle tube also has the BOM stamped on it. it is 'usually' on the long tube on the side with the diff cover. take a wire wheel and cleen the area good to find it.
The BOM is important for getting parts. even if you have no idea what the axle came out of, with the BOM Dana/Spicer can get you the correct parts based on the BOM.
