DANA 60?
I have the front end out of a project truck and i am wondering if it had the DANA 60. im sure this is not the 60 but curious any way. it came out of a 78 F-250 and a guy asked if i wanted to sell it because he thought it was a 60.
Heres the numbers i go toff of the tag i removed from it.

It will say 60 in the casting by the cover and it will have almost 4" locking hubs. Is it a low pinion or a high pinion model?

Not a 60. The Dana 60 uses a 4.10 gearset. 44's use a 4.09.

D44 = Ball joints and 8.5 ring gear
D60 = King pins and 9.75 ring gear
your rear should be a 60, compare that to the front

No need. The tag from the very first post says 44. Stop making this more complicated.
