Aight guys ive got a problem. When I turn on my headlights or parking lights, my turn signals or brake lights will not work. Im thinking that somewhere I have a wire crossed. I removed my turn signal lights from the front and wired in some new lights behind the grill for a clean look, maybe I did something wrong there.
If I'm not mistaken, the "parking lights" turn off when the headlights go on....so you may have tapped the wrong wire for your new lights.....I'd check out Ebay for a wiring manual for your truck and have a double check of where everything is going....because you never know what someone else did before you go the truck!
On the 70-up their front lights stayed ON with headlights(my 70 did anyway). Pre 69 went off. My '69 and 67 turn off.
There are only two wires going to front bulbs...so actually you don't cross them up or the bulb will light the wrong element. Shouldn't affect anything else. Unless you don't have them grounded properly...but that would affect them lighting...not the rear lights.
Hmmmm?
Did things work right before you changed the front??
Yeah they did work...its got to be something I did...its wierd, when the lights are turned off, I turn on the turn signal and both of the front ones blink....hmmm....i might just re-wire the front part
With wiring, when things really get crazy, I have always found a grounding problem somewhere in the circuit. You might try clipping a ground wire to the housing of your new lights and see if the problem changes.
I had to make ground jumpers for both of my taillight housings...because even though they were screwed to the body, they were not making good ground contact.
