C7AE-A heads

Found a pair of C7AE-A heads - but my book is blank as to what sort of heads these are. Did a search but C7AE is also a part number for a rod, so not much information available.

Steve Christ's book lists them, but gives no information.

Anybody know what they are and if that head is a good one to have?

I have two listings for that head... A 66-68 390HP application with 67-70cc chambers with thermactor and a 67 352/390/420/428 application with 71-74cc chambers. Both listings have std 1.55/2/02 valves. The larger chambers are D shaped and the smaller chambers kind of a jellybean or clamshell shape LOL. G.

These heads have the D shape chamber - so I guess there is nothing special about them. Think I will pass on them as it is a long drive to pick them up. I already have two sets, one to rebuild when I am ready and one to practice porting on.

I have a set on my 390. I polished the combustion chambers, and ported the heck out of 'em, in places. They seem to have a lot of meat there for porting. The chambers look like the "Early 427 low-riser" on page 41 of Steve's book.
