Question Not sure ??????

Ok guys need a bit of trouble shooting. 2001 250 super duty 4x4 124000 miles.Truck has done this sporadically for a good while, buy lately more often.Truck will run great for a good long time (days ,weeks ,months,)and then will be pulling away from light or something and check en. light will come and truck will be dead kind of.Truck will be running but no gas peddal then it comes back, sometimes after putting shifter in nenutral may run fine or buck and jump like bad fule or clogged fule filter push down on gas pd. and get some speed ok.Most often time this will happen after a long drive on hwy. Truck be running good get off at exit and here start the rodeo.I dont have a code reader (sorry) first thought it might be the cps but from posts sound like truk eng. die Any thoughts?

Find an auto parts store that has a code reader, they can check the codes for you.
Have you replaced the CPS? I'd do it anyway, especially with 124k miles.
Do NOT buy one from the dealer, lots of other places less expensive.

Sounds like it's the throttle pedal. Check with a dealer, I heard something about a TSB or recall on it.

Symptoms sounds to me like it could be a problem with the high pressure oil system, possibly the pump. I would also suggest getting the codes read.

Fryline, there was a Recall on the 02 and 03 for the adjustable accelerator pedal.
It was #03B03
Don't know it there was anything for the 01 but you can look for it up top under Recall/TSB.

Just wondering, where did you get the name Fryline?
Do you work at McDonald's?
(kidding)
Can't work there and afford to own a PSD!

have the pedel checked. there are electric relays that make it work and they have been known to go bad.
