I got a new cell phone yesterday. Its a cricket. I got it because i can get unlimited everything for 35 a month. But I have a problem. The stock ring tones that came with the phone really suck. I mean suck! I saw an ad on a pop up screen , that said select the box next to the song and type in your cell phone number and it would send you the ring tone for free. I dont think it's legit, sounds like a scam, but does anyone here know a site that I can give my number and they will send me the song...for free? This phone doesnt have internet, so i cant do that. Also is there an adapter thing i can buy for the phone that I can plug into my computer so i can download ringers and transfer them to my phone thru the adapter?
I'm not thinking this is possible by the way, but it doesnt hurt to ask.
It's adware.. just google ringtones. The main problem is that it's hard to get ringtones for Crickets. And when you find a place that'll send them, I think they charge like $4 each. If I were you, I'd talk to a Cricket rep and see what they recommend. I am fixing to get a Cricket, because I made a bet with a girl and I lost so I have to get a cell to talk to her all the time lol.
i sure hope in this bet you lost, that the gal is a decent gal you don't mind talkin to.....
Haha yea, she's great.. I basically just needed an excuse to buy one. She's in OKC and I'm in Tulsa, so it's about 100 miles difference. I was going to take her to the National Rally thing for FTE, but I can't make it, so neither will she.
Yea I hear you romerb2, i havent found any for cricket yet. just about every other cell phone/cell phone service but cricket. I was sure "jamster" would work. they have commercials on music TV channels. Alls you do its text a certian number/letter combo to their number, which is the password for a certain song, and they send you the ringtone, and it's only like 99 cents. but when i text'ed the song number to jamster, they responded "cricket isn't involved with us at this time".
is cricket a brand of phone? why not just buy a data cable for your phone and make the ringtones and upload them to your phone thats What I do with my nextel 730...
you can probably find all the info you'd ever need and more at howardforums.com
Cricket is a service such as Cingular and T-mobile.. but it's $35 a month for unlimited long distance, unlimited minutes all together. Service here isn't bad, but if you go like 60 miles away, they won't probably work.. although here they've expanded quite a bit. They use phones such as Nokia and Kyocera.. I think they have some more now..
I don't know if you can get a data cable, I'll have to try it.. maybe I could get IR to work with it.
I'll call the dealer or search online for these data cables. It's a Kyocera. The Phone was around 180 bucks, but when i chose the unlimited everything plan for 45 a month, it took the price of the phone down to like 90 bucks. Im gonna switch to the 35 a dollar a month plan after this month. I just got the $45 a month plan because the discount on the phone. The service area doesn't really bother me because I dont call anyone too far away from here anyways. It basically covers all of central ohio and some areas up north by lake erie. Thats all I really need anyways.
