Tire size?
I have a 70 f100 and was hoping someone could tell me the factory tire size. I have 60s on it now and want to go stock size.

Guessing, but wouldn't that be a 700-15? I'd think a 235 is about a close as you could get.

No, I understood, I meant a 235/85-15 should be the modern equivalent to a 700-15.

Stock back then was either 225/75-15 or 235/75-15. The 225s look too small on these old trucks. The 235s give it a perfect stock look.

I didn't think they were using the metric sizes in 1970?
Back then it would have been a 7.00-15 or maybe a H-78-15.
I stand corrected on the modern size, the 235/75-15 is correct, I guess I have 85 series on the mind from the one ton.

They may not have been and there's no way for me to know being that I was 7 at the time. But I've seen a number of trucks with 225s on them and they just don't look right. I had an 81 F100 that had the 235s as a stock tire. Those are the reasons I assumed it was the stock size.

I wound up using the 235/75 r15's. I only replaced the fronts with good used ones because the back tires which are still 60s are still in jam up shape. I figured since the back ones are still good they should wear out together. When they all wear out I will put new 235/75 r15s all the way around. I would also like to thank everyone for there help.

P255 70R 15s are the same size as the P235 75R 15 but has a wider tread. I like that look better on the pickup.
